1. Water & Water Tank in AIRY
- Water quality: Use low-lime, clean water to avoid deposits in the tank.
- Observe fill level: Keep between "Minimum" and "Maximum" – refill as soon as the level is too low.
- Refill rhythm: More frequent in the first weeks, as the plant actively regulates the space.
- Watering via substrate: Necessary in the first six weeks after planting, afterwards only via the filling neck.
- Water additives: Sparingly mix AIRY Vitalizer or liquid fertilizer if desired.
2. Location & Light
- Bright to semi-shady location: Ideal for air-purifying plants – avoid direct midday sun.
- Humidity: Optimal between 40–60%. Tropical plants appreciate occasional spraying.
- Temperature & drafts: 18–22 °C is perfect. Avoid drafts as they can impair plant growth.
3. Watering & Moisture
- Consistent moisture: The AIRY system takes care of distribution. Overwatering is hardly possible.
- Above-ground watering: Only if the system is completely dried out – otherwise exclusively via the tank.
- Moisture check: Only necessary for additional plants outside of AIRY (finger test or moisture meter).
Supplement: The first six weeks
After planting the plant, you must additionally water via the substrate in the first six weeks. This supports the activation of capillary action until the roots are firmly anchored in the substrate. Afterwards, the system fully takes over water distribution via the tank.
4. Fertilization
- Growth period: Fertilize liquid every two weeks from April to October. In winter, once a month is sufficient.
- Long-term fertilizer: Possible, but dose according to package instructions.
- Fresh substrate change: After refilling, fertilize again only after 2–3 months.
5. Substrate & Repotting
- No repotting necessary: The AIRY system does not require classic repotting. The special substrate remains loose and permeable permanently.
- Long-term use: The substrate remains stable for years – replacement is only necessary in case of contamination or aging.
- No classic soil: The specially developed AIRY substrate is both air-permeable and nutrient-rich.
6. Leaf Care & Cleaning
- Leaf cleaning: Wipe with a damp cloth or lightly shower the plant – ideal to promote photosynthesis.
- Spray care: Tropical plants like pothos or anthuriums appreciate occasional spraying in dry heated air.
7. Humidity & Environment
- Optimal humidity: 40–60% – regular refilling helps with dry indoor climate.
- Moist rooms: The bathroom is ideal for plants like pothos or orchids thanks to high humidity and light conditions.
