The care of a weeping fig (Ficus exotica) in mineral substrate can be somewhat different than in conventional potting soil, as the substrate meets special requirements.

Here are a few tips for you:

  1. Watering: Be sure to water the ficus moderately and let the substrate dry well between waterings. Does your water level indicator show MIN? Then wait another 2-3 days before watering fully again. A good trick is to pour about 1/3 of the water over the substrate and the rest into the water tank.
  2. Light: Your weeping fig needs bright, indirect sunlight. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent burns on the leaves. A bright location near a window is perfect.
  3. Temperature and Humidity: Your fiddle leaf fig feels most comfortable at room temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. It can also tolerate slightly lower temperatures, but it should be protected from drafts and sudden temperature fluctuations. The humidity should be moderate, but normal room humidity is also fine.
  4. Fertilization: During the growing season (spring and summer), fertilize your fiddle leaf fig every 4-6 weeks with a balanced, liquid fertilizer or our AIRY Booster. In autumn and winter, you should refrain from fertilizing. Again: less is more!
  5. Care: Regularly remove dust from the leaves with a soft cloth, our LeafLove gloves, or a gentle shower.
  6. Pests and Diseases: Watch out for pests such as spider mites, aphids, and scale insects. If your plant is infested, take appropriate measures to combat the pests. Our chatbot can give you tips on this.

By following these tips, you can ensure that your fiddle leaf fig grows healthy and happy in the AIRY.
