Caring for a Monstera Deliciosa (also called Swiss cheese plant) in mineral substrate is easy if you know the needs of the Monstera.

Here are a few care tips:

  1. Watering : Make sure that the substrate never dries out completely. Always water when the water level indicator is at MIN with stale or low-lime water. Please do not keep the water level at the same level all the time, the Monstera does not like that.
  2. Light : The Monstera Deliciosa needs bright, indirect sunlight. Avoid direct sunlight as this can cause leaf burn. A window with curtains or blinds that filter the light is ideal.
Since it comes from the rainforest, it can also grow well in less bright rooms - but then without curtains.
  3. Temperature and humidity : Keep the room temperature between 18°C and 26°C. Cold is not good for the plant. The Monstera thrives in higher humidity, so it is helpful to spray the leaves with water occasionally. Please do not place it on a windowsill above a heater.
  4. Fertilizing : During the growing season in spring and summer, fertilize the plant every 4 to 6 weeks with a balanced, liquid houseplant fertilizer or our AIRY Booster. In autumn and winter, you can reduce fertilization or stop fertilizing altogether.
  5. Maintaining the vines : When the plant develops tendrils, you can carefully attach it to a support structure to help it climb. This will provide an attractive appearance and prevent the vines from breaking.
  6. Pests and diseases : Check the plant regularly for pests such as spider mites and aphids, as well as for signs of disease such as yellow leaves or brown spots. If problems occur, act early.

With these care instructions, your Monstera Deliciosa in mineral substrate should thrive and be healthy. Remember that every plant is different and it may take some time to get to know its exact needs. Observe it carefully and adjust the care accordingly.
